Laura and I got down to Paris for 07:30 hoping to catch NS and whatever else came. It sure came. We saw NS #328, #327, CN #399, VIA #670, #671, CN #385, #148, #587, #398, VIA #72, CN #330, #435, #392, VIA #73, CN #331, #392, #393, and then caught CP #153 at Killean on our way home, giving us CP, CN, NS, CSX, UP, BNSF, SOO, and GSCX power across 18 trains.
(map) Paris is just West of Brantford on the CN Dundas sub and was once the site of the junction between the Dundas sub and the completely defunct Drumbo sub that connected Paris and Stratford. There's also a large trestle in Paris.
NS #328 heads East with 2 black NS units and 14 cars.
NS #327 heads West with a black NS dash 8 and a BNSF pumpkin and 22 cars.
CN #399 passes through with CN-GSCX (ex-Conrail)-BNSF power and 165 cars.
VIA #670 passes the tail end of CN #399.
VIA #671 passes under the signals with VIA 6442 leading.
CN #385 passes with CN-NS-BNSF power.
CN #148 passes with CN-CSX-CN power.
CN #587 with CN 4111 and no other cars or power crosses under the signal on the South track.
CN #587 with CN 4111 switches the North service track at Paris.
CN #398 with CN-BNSF for power passes CN #587 switching the small spur off the North service track.
CN #587 pulls ahead to wait over an hour for the signal off the service track.
VIA #72 passes through with VIA 912.
CN #330 passes, providing us our first multi-unit train with only CN power.
CN #435 passes in front of our car as the rain picks up.
CN #392 passes with CN-UP power.
VIA #73 passes carrying tomorrow's #86.
CN #331 passes as we hide from the rain in our car.
CN #382 passes with 2 CN units.
CN #393 passes with CN-UP power.
(map) This is CP's name for the passing track at Cambridge on the CP Galt sub.
CP #153 crosses side road 10 near Killean with CP 9601 and SOO 6025.
