March 26th, 2006

Rob warned me that 338 had 3 new CN GEVOs on it, probably the last three of this order. Trouble is, I was still asleep. When I got up, I got the message and, hoping I wasn't too late, went to Georgetown, where I saw 5 CN-powered freight trains in two hours but clearly had long missed the GEVOs, leaving CN as the only class one from which I have not seen a GEVO.

Georgetown, Ontario

(map) Georgetown's CN Silver is the site of the junction between CN's Halton sub and the CN-owned, GEXR-rented Guelph sub. It is between Guelph and Brampton on highway 7.

CN #435 runs through with CN 9540, a GP40-2W that seems to show up everywhere, and CN 377377, a cylindrical hopper I've shot more times than I can count.
