After a weekend of snow, we wanted to catch OSR heading to Guelph breaking through snow banks, but were disappointed to find the snowbanks not really breakable and the foreman going ahead of the train, so we tried our luck at the Junction instead since we were already up and on the move.
Guelph Junction, Ontario
(map) Technically Campbellville, Guelph Junction is the junction of the Guelph Junction Railway -- currently serviced by OSR -- the CP Hamilton sub, and the CP Galt sub. It is between Milton and Galt on the CP Galt sub.
The first train of the day is an eastbound intermodal passing with a red and white SOO SD60.
CP #142, the loaded frame train, slowly inches its way by a foreman working just out of sight.
A large hy-rail truck passes. This is the first video I have taken with my camera's 640x480@10fps video mode, which is just a bit too slow to be really usable.
More SOO SD60s pull more intermodal east through the Junction.
CP #418, a southbound manifest on the Hamilton sub goes through the yard trackage at the Junction.
A westbound mixed freight with large-multimark (aka big pacman) scheme engine CP 5911 passes while OSR works in the background.
