We headed down to Paris for the day to see what was in store. The tracks weren't exactly busy, but the trains that did come through on CN had plenty to offer. We shot CP #147 at Ayr on the way with a GEVO and 45 autoracks, then saw CN #410, NS #327, CN #394, VIA #72 and #73, VIA #148 with 7 units, #399, #271 and #393 together, #385, VIA #76, and CN #330.
(map) Ayr is between Wolverton and Cambridge on the CP Galt sub and houses a small backtrack yard and the Ayr Pit Spur.
CP #147 comes through Ayr with the distinct horn of a GEVO.
(map) Paris is just West of Brantford on the CN Dundas sub and was once the site of the junction between the Dundas sub and the completely defunct Drumbo sub that connected Paris and Stratford. There's also a large trestle in Paris.
CN #410 passes through Paris with 4 units, 2 of them being GP9s.
NS #327 passes through Paris with a long train for Ford.
CN #394 whistles for us on the way through with two BNSF units up front.
VIA #72 darts through Paris.
VIA #73 passes CN #148 at Paris.
CN #399 finds a sunspot a moment too early for us with BNSF power leading.
CN #271 narrowly edges out CN #393 through Paris with almost identically powered trains of similar length.
CN #385 passes through Paris with two CSX SD70MACs following the leader.
CN #330 comes out of the sun to finish off the day.
