We went down to Paris for the day. It was relatively quiet, with long lulls and little interesting power. On the way home, we caught CP #243 at Ayr and after dinner I caught VIA #87 with 6411 leading in Guelph.
(map) Paris is just West of Brantford on the CN Dundas sub and was once the site of the junction between the Dundas sub and the completely defunct Drumbo sub that connected Paris and Stratford. There's also a large trestle in Paris.
CN #392 comes through Paris.
VIA #70 passes through Paris Junction.
CN #399 heads West with an black IC unit in last position.
VIA #671 passes unceremoniously.
NS #327 heads West with a filthy unit that NS never got around to painting and around 60 cars.
CN #587 heads into Paris to lift some cars.
CN #331 heads West.
CN #271 takes the crossover on its way West.
VIA #72 heads toward Toronto with the lone P42 of the day.
CN #385 passes with a CN North America painted GTW unit trailing.
CN #398 heads East with CN power.
VIA #73 passes with 6438 leading.
CN #393 ends a 2.5 hour long lull with our first true foreign power of the day.
(map) Ayr is between Wolverton and Cambridge on the CP Galt sub and houses a small backtrack yard and the Ayr Pit Spur.
CP #243 crosses Reidsville Road with several long cuts of new MWAX and CMO freight cars.
(map) The city of Guelph is my home town and is just East of Kitchener-Waterloo on the GEXR Guelph sub, and the Ontario Southland Railway/Guelph Junction Railway track, the other end of which is at Guelph Junction.
VIA #87 heads through CN Guelph Junction with 6411/Operation Lifesaver leading.
